BTEC Level Two Intermediate Award

in Breakaway/Self Defence Techniques

This aim of this course is to instruct staff employed in customer-facing roles, who may be exposed to the risk of physical violence at work, in the underpinning knowledge and physical skills needed to enable them to defend themselves against physical attacks while carrying out their duties.

To achieve a pass in this course, learners will be expected to:

1. Understand the law in relation to the use of physical force for self defence and the defence of others.

2. Demonstrate the appropriate and effective physical skills for the purpose of breaking away and defending against a violent attack.

This is a one day course and is suitable for anyone who may be at risk of assault while carrying out their duties.
