Physical Intervention Training

for Child Care Staff

This is a two day course designed to provide competent training in the use of physical intervention/restraint for staff working with children and young people.

By the end of the course staff will be able to:

  • Understand the law and legislation with regard to the use of physical force including: the Children’s Act 1989, European Convention on the rights of the child and the Human Rights Act 1998

  • Demonstrate correct physical intervention/restraint techniques including escorting, holding, kicking and seated holding/restraint.

  • Allow delegates to practice physical intervention in various scenario's.

This course is ideal for both staff and management involved with child care.

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
